She Can Club exists to plant seeds of possibility in women throughout Sonoma County.

Since 2021, She Can Club has hosted 100+ events and brought together over 1,000 women from across Sonoma County. Over the last 5+ years we have proven time and time again that when women in Sonoma County gather in real life, they inspire each other to step out of their comfort zones and begin to pursue their dreams alongside each other. Being in rooms like this makes her starts to believe that SHE CAN actually do the thing that has been placed on her heart.

There are no membership fees or prerequisites for joining us at She Can Club events. Just sign up & show up for whatever events speak to you. Every womxn will be welcomed with open arms into our community!

We take a friendship-first approach to our networking events. While a lot of attendees are entrepreneurs, not everyone is there for business. We believe that by creating a laid back environment (yes, yoga pants are acceptable attire at every event!), and stripping away the formalities of a normal “networking” event, women become more vulnerable and relaxed. This isn’t a cliquey group where everyone is pretending to be someone they’re not. Every single woman has stepped out of her comfort zone and into our safe space, and we don’t take that lightly. This is not a room where you will find yourself awkwardly standing alone. From the second you walk in the door, there is a behind-the-scenes strategy to make sure everyone has someone to talk to at all times. Yes, you still have to be brave, but we’re here to help!

If you’re looking for IRL Business Besties and a raving referral network from people who know, love and trust you, then keep an eye on our SHE.E.O. events. Multiple women in She Can Club have built 6-figure businesses from scratch starting with referrals and clients they met at She Can Club.

We may be pinker and sparklier than other business networking groups, but we are the decision makers of our households, we pass real money around, and we absolutely know how to leverage our education, experience and connections to turn a room full of women into a revenue generating network.

Meet Our Founder

Hilary Richards is a mom of two elementary school aged kids, married to her high school sweetheart, a Swiftie since 2006, and proudly rooted in Windsor, CA.

She is deeply passionate about helping women see their full potential, especially when they cannot see it themselves. She shows up for the woman who is quietly struggling, the one who has been told she is too much or not enough, and the one who just needs someone in her corner long enough to believe in herself again.

She is a proud ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and will loudly stand up to protect minorities and women’s rights. She believes that a rising tide raises all ships and that the room is always better when every woman in it feels safe enough to take up space.

When she is not hosting events or building community, you can find her being a stay-at-home-mom with her family, in her office dreaming up the next thing, or probably convincing someone else that they are more capable than they think.

HILARY’S FOUNDERS JOURNEY

2005

I spent 12 years in a desk chair helping grow a small business selling water meters from a kitchen table into a $100,000,000+ operation.

I had accomplished everything that The American Dream said I should, but I was absolutely miserable as the breadwinner of my family, and saw no way out. In hindsight, I now call that the “Sh!tty Should Cycle”.

After our company got bought out & moved my office to another city, I decided to test the waters as an entrepreneur. I sold wooden signs for events, and built a Virtual Assistant business. I owned my own time and loved my new found freedom with my family!

2017

2018

One of my Virtual Assistant clients had a job opening for a General Manager of their franchise, which I was uniquely qualified for based on my previous experience. Although it meant giving up my time freedom, it was a great job opportunity for my lifestyle at that time. I was hired on while pregnant with our second child!

2020

The day the world shut down for Covid, we mutually decided it was time for me to be home with my family. I had two kids under 4 and a deep desire to own my own time as an entrepreneur again.

It was during this time that I vowed to myself that I’d never work for someone again. I was going to find a way to become an entrepreneur no matter what it took! I went back to doing V.A. work & digital marketing for local businesses.

2021

In early 2021, my step-dad got diagnosed with cancer and died 58 days later. The months that followed became the turning point that led me to where I am today. The question on my mind every day was:

"Am I living for my resume, or my eulogy?"

And with that, the trajectory of my life was sent down a completely different path.

2021

The long story involves signs and psychics, but the short story is that I realized my life's purpose was to empower women to follow their dreams. I was done hustling to keep up with bro-marketing and the good ol’ boys expectations on me and decided to come up with a business model no one else was doing at the time. I decided I needed to find a way to help local women in Sonoma County become real friends who lift each other up and encourage them to pursue their passions and achieve their goals.

The lessons I learned in my early 20’s & 30’s are now helping me serve women throughout Sonoma County and I couldn’t ask for a more fulfilling job than this!
